Irritable but Irresistible

Christmas was quite boring this year.

Went to Yishun Swensens with my three dudettes. (The same three, Prita, Kohi and Dharshi)

I’m quite annoyed that they don’t serve ‘Chocolate Freckles Peak’ anymore at Swensens. That was my favourite ice cream! It was a heavenly treat for all chocoholic people. HOW COULD THEY?!?!?! :( But anyhow, atleast they still have the Ring-a-ding-a-ling and the Sticky Chewy Chocolate.

Me and Kohi giving a retarded pose.

When I reached Swensens, I realised that I was there exactly a year ago celebrating my sister’s ex colleague Balqis’s birthday. Time flies man. So fast and its been a year already.

Ahh. Looking forward for the bigger break next weekend. Kinda sucky that I gotta work on Saturdays. IF not it’s really a LONG break. I envy people like Dharshi now. GRRRR.

The new year is coming and so it’s time to make my new year resolution/s.

1) I want to loose weight! Atleast 10kg. – Don’t give me the crap that women are never satisfied. I need to loose weight ‘cos I AM fat.

2) I want to look different. As in a mini-makeover. Need to change my entire outlook, from my hairstyle to my dressing. – Am actually working on that now.

3) I want to get a small tatoo at my ankle. Thought of it for a long time, just never attempted.

4) Looks aside, I need to get my driving license! Although I can’t afford a car right now, atleast I can rent cars and bring my family out! And my doggy Sanjana wouldn’t have trouble travelling time to time.

5) I would like to further my education. Hopefully a diploma at one of the private institutes. Will work my way up from there. Really hope nothing goes wrong this time.

6) I hope 2007 willl be a better year for my family. 2006 was a big hurdle to cross. We’ve been coping quite well, hope to see the good results soon. Like all muslims say, all the unhappiness and problems are tests from God. I hope we have scored well.

Yea, that’s it for now. Might add in more soon.

Looking forward for 2007 yeah~! The year of the oinky oinky pinky pig. (^o0^)

Last weekend was a blast. Headed to M’sia with my dudettes Dharshi, Kohi and Prita.. So after work I headed down to Kranji intending to meet the girls there and as usual they were all late! Grrr. So finally the beauties came and we ate ice cream while waiting for my uncle to fetch us there. Me and Kohi went to the ladies to wash up and by the time we came back, Prita and Dharshi were being ‘disturbed’ by a group of guys.

They sang “Kaathalai yaaradi muthalil solvathu, neeya, illai naanaa!” when they walked past these girls. After that, they stood at the overhead bridge just looking down and throwing flying kisses. When two guys came down signalling that they wanted to exchange phone numbers, they made a ‘U’ turn back as they saw me and Kohi approaching. I don’t know if we looked like Gangsters or what.. But whatever.. Luckily they decided to make their way back.

And since I was facing their direction, my dudettes asked if they were still standing there. When I looked up, one guy gave me the most emotional and long lasting flying kiss ever, I almost puked. Well, that was the start to a terrific journey. Lol.

When my uncle arrived, we rushed to take the bus down and when we reached the JB Checkpoint, we waited and waited for our turn. The queue was freaking long since it was the weekend. So we reached JB and headed to an Indian restaurant to have our lunch. This place in JB was very crowded so I decided to start the buddy system. Prita and myself were buddies while Kohi and Dharshi were buddies. Something like partner la. So the main purpose of the buddy thing was to ensure no one gets lost. So one was to be with their buddy till the end of the trip. Lol. My buddy was very good la. She made sure she was sticking with me no matter where we went. And if anything came up, her punch dialouge will be, “Buddies Pathuko!!!”.

So after having our meal (I had egg and onion thosai with a paalgova), we headed to the bus stop to take a bus down to Kulai. The bus journey was awesome. I was sitting with my buddy and exchanging stories and we also took a few pics in the bus. We alighted and proceeded to Novenna’s Restaurant which belonged to my family friend. Then we ate Naan with Chicken. Yes I know I sound like a pig. We practically ate all day. No choice la. Good food infront of my eyes. Cannot resist the temptation mah. Then my cousins Rishi Hunt and Thanaraj dropped by. After our tea-break Thanaraj dropped us at Rishi Hunt’s house. (Our destination)

I was then greeted by all my relatives. Cousins, aunties, uncles, my granny and my cute little nephew. We were relac-ing for a while then we took our shower one by one. Geesh, I felt like a sticky chewy chocolate. Ok maybe that was a bad description but I really felt so sweaty and sticky. Ugh. After our shower, we proceeded to the balcony for the barbecue. As usual, my role for the barbecue was to eat the food and comment on how it could have been better. Haha. Then we celebrated my uncle and auntie’s wedding anniversary. It was meant to be a surprise celebration. So after the barbecue, I sat on the couch to take a breather and then my uncle brought a big plate of spagetti. Haaa. Felt like a balloon but anyhow, I ate that too. Hahaha.

After that, we were watching my 21st birthday VCD and laughing at everyone. By the time this was finished, we all were so shacked that we decided to end the night. So Dharshi, Prita and my mother had the bed to themselves. Kohi and myself had a single mattress to share. The classic part: When I woke up, Kohi was on the mattress and I was on the floor. Luckily I had the comforter with me. Lol. Rise and Shineee. We were washing up when we heard the voice of my threatening uncle. He said that he will finish all our breakfast if we don’t go down ASAP. So we rushed and ran to the kitchen to have our breakfast of fried noodles and hot coffee. Hmm yummy.

After that.. We proceeded to Rishi Hunt’s home for the disabled. My cousin Rishi Hunt is actually working in this home, so we try to frequent the home and spend time with the children there as much as we can. After the small visit, Muthu offered to drive us to this shopping centre in Kulai, apologies forgot the name. So Letchman, Muthu, Kohi, Prita, Dharsh and myself made our way to the shopping centre squeeeezing ourselves in the car. Poor Letch and Muthu were following the girls everywhere. We were trying to get ourselves something from Kulai but unfortunately, this was a bad shopping spot. :(

We decided to take a break and headed to the Pizza Hut. We had our Rasam, Naan and Bajji there. Oh that’s Letchman’s version of Mushroom Soup, Pizza and Garlic Sticks. After our cheesy meal, we decided to head back home. It was time for us to go back already. Awwww.

So while travelling back home, I played some motivational songs for Muthu as we kinda got lost due to Letch’s wrong directions. Lol. After our quick shower, we were watching Dhool for a while and then we left to the train station in Rishi Hunt’s mini van. It was kinda boring so we pleaded to Rishi Hunt to play some songs. And he did. The volume level was miserable, so I and Prita threatened to sing the song out loud if he was still going to refuse to increase the volume. And he still refused. So Prita and myself sang the ‘Jumbalakka’ song in the most horrible way ever. I asked her to sing it in the high pitch and I sang it in a very low pitch. Eventually, Pratheeb’s ears were going to bleed and he asked Rishi Hunt to increase the volume. Haha. Poor thing.

So then, we were hanging around at the train station waiting for the train. This time, we snapped some pictures and it was quite an emotional moment for Prita. Oreh lauzu poh! So finally, we took a train to Singapore.

Although we stayed at M’sia for a very short period of time, (One and a half days) I really enjoyed myself with my family and pals. Looking forward to more trips like these.

:)

It seems like the year just started and its going to be Christmas so fast!

Well, am looking forward for Christmas. I was intending of getting a 5-foot White Christmas Tree for my home but am contemplating thinking of the storage. I hope that it doesn’t turn brown or black when I keep it aside after the celebrations. Haha!

Yea, I heard that there are many shops at ‘The Concourse’ – (Situated at Beach Road) selling Christmas items at wholesale prices. You can also get your Christmas Trees there at a very reasonable price, so check it out. Am planning to head there to get my Christmas stuff too.

This had been a very busy week for me. Rushing stuff at work and attending courses. I was attending this HR Admin Writing course from Thursday to Friday and boy, I was bored to death. My office and myself had this impression that this course might help me brush up on my writing skills, like letter writing, memo drafting..etc.

But the course was more on

- How to form simple sentences.
- How we should replace ‘She wants to eat apples today.’ instead of ‘She want to eat apple.’

They did brush up on letter writing formats and all, but it was all just too brief. They were focusing more on the English Language by itself. I really felt that I was traveling back to Primary School.

The plus point was that the course was held at ‘Riverview Hotel’ so our refreshments & lunch were sponsored by the hotel. Although the hotel was ageing, the place looked alright. I thought that they can improve on their customer service though.

On the first day (Thursday), I was very late for the course. I had trouble getting up la. As usual, my nocturnal habits have started acting up. So instead of alighting at City Hall or Dhoby Ghaut, (the two nearest MRT Stations; the Hotel was walkable from these stations) I alighted at Toa Payoh in the hope of hopping into a taxi and flying to the hotel. Instead, I was greeting by this very long queue for the taxi. No taxi boards could be found so I wonder who was the inventor of this. Anyhow, I managed to get a cab in lesser then 10 mins but ended up reaching my course 25minutes late, at 9.25am. The taxi cost me $9.90. Whoaa, Heart pain la.

On Friday, I woke up slightly earlier and rushed off as I didn’t want to waste my money on the cab fare again. I reached Dhoby Ghaut at 8.55 am. Sheesh. Only had 5mins and I really don’t know Dhoby Ghaut too well. Decided to take a cab from there again. So I was practically running up the escalator finding for a taxi stand. Then I was walking and walking when I finally decided to ask a lady on where the nearest taxi stand was. She pointed at a direction which needed atleast another 10 mins of walking. Gosh! And then she added, ‘You might get a cab from here; you can try your luck la.’ GRRR.

Now it was already 9am. Sheeeesh. Late again. I don’t know which direction I was walking but I was just stomping away trying to find for a taxi stand. And suddenly when I looked up, I saw the hotel. Haha. Saved on my taxi fare. Flew up to the course venue and managed to reach there at 9.05am. Foo. Accomplishment. Was grinning to myself as drops of perspiration trickled down my forehead. I think I looked like I just ran my 2.4 under the hot sun, but who cares! I was only 5 mins late!

I think I need to do something about my punctuality now. Maybe that can be my new year resolution? Lol.

The course was like a break from work, so I really really appreciated this chance. And I have another course to attend this Thursday and Friday. Hopefully it’s more interesting.

Its been more then a week after my birthday celebrations.

I feel as if it was just yesterday. Had so much fun.. Really can’t forget the whole event. Since we had it all captured on tape and photos, I can watch it again and again. Yippeeee~!

I wanted to update my blog on my birthday and all but due to my very busy schedule, I could not find time to blog it all down. Nevertheless, let me just say how I felt from the eve onwards.

On the 24th, I was rushing my stuff up in the office as I was planning for the long weekend. My beloved colleagues surprised me with an unexpected treat at Swensens and they had also presented me a beautiful wallet accompanied by a birthday card with sweet messages. I was very touched! After that, I spent a while in the office clearing some stuff and then I met Prita, Dharsh and Kohi for some last minute shopping. We needed to get some gifts to present to the winners of the ‘games’ organized at my party. After some long shopping, we headed back home pretty late reaching a few minutes before midnight. I was damn shacked out. Then came my birthday greetings one by one.. My dad was the first to wish me in person.. Balan was the first through sms and Ganesh was the first through phone. Trust me.. I’m quite particular about these kinda actions sometimes. Lol.

Then came the cute birthday call from Prita, Kohi and Shanty. They made up a choir team and sang me the birthday song. So cute! Lol. Then many messages followed up brightening up my day ahead. Thanks to everyone for all your wishes. Appreciate it alot. :)

Soon was the morning. I quickly woke up and took a good shower before heading down to the hairdressers. Needed to style my hair mah! I had a tough time waking Dharsh up to accompany me but she wasn’t to be blamed considering the time we slept the night before. So yea.. We made our way to the hairdressers and got our hair done. Then Ganesh surprised me with a visit and his birthday gifts. After that we headed back home to start getting changed. My mother then asked me to sample her vegetarian cooking for the guest at my function. A while later Prita and Kohi came over to help out with the preparations. I think we spent a lot of time on that not realising that we were very late for the function. My father left early so that he could oversee whats going on. The girls as usual, needed more time. Lol. Soon Prita and Dharshi left with my mum to the venue first. (They had alot of stuff to do.. Like briefing the MCs and DJs on the plan.. and laying out the guest books..etc etc) My dear good friend Prita told me that she will telephone me to signal me on what time to leave my house so that the timing will be just right. (So that I can give the ‘grand’ appearance). Kohi was accompanying me at home till then.

I was waiting and waiting and waiting. No calls at all! Gruff! Soon my father bombarded me with calls asking me to leave ASAP. Both my dad and myself were furious as both Dharshi and Prita didn’t answer any of our calls. They went erm.. Missing? So I and Kohi got a cab and rushed to the venue. In the meantime we were trynna call that two doinks. I think we would have left like 25 missed calls? They refused to answer! Man.. And when we called the rest at the party to find out if they had already reached, we were told they hadn’t reached there yet. Gosh.. I and Kohi were freaked out. Our imaginations went wild. Where could have my mum, sis and friend disappeared to? Soon we were already reaching the venue. Then Prita called. I went like ‘UNAKU FONE ADICHA EDUKKA THERIYAATHA?!?!?!’ Then she was like ‘Sorry lah.. We left our phones at the back of the taxi’ Aiyo! These doinks ah!

So we alighted and when I reached the place I could feel eagles flying in my tummy. Right. Not butterflies. EAGLES. I mean.. I was damn nervous. The attention was going to be on me and I felt horrible. Then my sis was like.. “Hey later the DJ will announce lets arise for the birthday gal ah.. Then the attention will be on you.. you know? Then you will have to walk in ah..” ALAMAK! Eagles started flying faster lah! I think my face looked really horrible that Prita was training me on how to smile and walk gracefully during the ‘grand appearance’.

So I made the ‘grand appearance’. Wasn’t that bad lah. I think can make it. I really faked a big smile and walked towards the cake. Then came the phototaking sessions. (Which I’m very horrible at) After that torturous shots, the two MCs were interviewing me and asking me to sing two songs. I need to kill Anastasia for sabotaging me man! She requested for the MC to ask me to sing Avvaiyaar’s “Nyaanapazham” song.. Actually I used to irritate my secondary sch buddies singing these kinda ‘old is gold’ songs. She found this perfect opportunity to sabo me. :(

The MC didn’t give me any chances. But due to my prestige problems I discounted a little and sang another song instead. Then the MCs were asking me to dance.. GRRRR.. I’m not those sporty sporty people and I really find it very paiseh to dance infront of so many people.. So I then striked the best pose of the evening. The ‘Sir Stamford Raffles’ pose. Refusing to move an inch. Then Prita darling came to my rescue. We both did some salsa moves. Wahahaha.. Then the party proceeded..

The main highlights were Prita’s and Kohi’s dance performance for the ‘Kozhi Vada Kozhi’ song, Prita and her cousin’s dance performance for the ‘Yemmadi Aathadi’ song and the couple dancing games. *Grinz*

Although the game planning screwed up a little, the MC did a good job by creating another game out of it. We all enjoyed ourselved. (I certainly did.)

Left the place with cherished memories and precious gifts. This birthday.. I will never forget.

Thanks once again to all of you who attended my party. Love you lots. Umuacks umuacks.

P.S. Umuacks to the special someone who stole my heart at my birthday. Only a few people know who is that. Haha. Let that remain a mystery for now. Yea.. Will be uploading pics of the birthday soon so look out for that yea!

Peace.
