Tomato Skin Care Techniques

Tomatoes

The use of tomato for skin care is ideal because of its cooling and astringent properties. It is rich in vitamin C making it helpful for acne and brightening dull skin and contains vitamin A needed for building healthy skin. Its naturally acidic properties help it balance the skin and get rid of excessive oil. The antioxidants in tomatoes make them free radical fighters. Purchase organic tomatoes or grow your own to try one of these skin care techniques utilizing the tomato.

Tomato and Lime Pore Reducer

Combine one tablespoon of fresh tomato juice with 2 – 4 drops of fresh lime juice. Apply the mixture with a cotton ball, and let it work on reducing your pores for about 15 minutes. Rinse with tepid to cool water to shrink pores even further, and moisturize.

Tomato Pulp Acne Treatment

Try this treatment for persistent acne that needs more than a 15 minute fix. Mash a fresh tomato and apply the pulp liberally to your face. Relax with the tomato on your face for an hour. Rinse with tepid water. Use this treatment everyday for at least a week for best results.

Tomato and Avocado Cleansing Mask

This mask is good for people with combination skin because it combines the astringent, blackhead removing and oil reducing properties of tomato with the antiseptic and hydrating properties of avocado. The mask also contains vitamins A, C and E and has a soothing and cooling feel. To make the mask, mash one small tomato and one small avocado. Mix them together well, and smooth the mixture on your face. Rinse after 20 to 30 minutes with tepid water.

Quick Tomato Facial

Cut a tomato in half and rub it on your face and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Focus on the areas on your face with the most blackheads. Rinse with tepid water. Use this remedy if you want a natural facial astringent that will reduce oil and reduce your pores.

Tomato Astringent

To make a natural and cooling astringent, crush a fresh tomato and strain to reserve the juice. Slice a cucumber, and squeeze some of the juice from a few of the slices into the tomato juice. Mix and apply with a cotton ball. Rinse with tepid water. Make this astringent fresh each day to get the maximum benefits of the tomato.

Tomato and Yogurt Cooling Mask

Yogurt adds the benefits of protein and natural skin softening agents to the cooling and cleaning properties of tomato for a mask that will feel good on a mild sunburn. Crush a 1/2 tomato and add 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Mix well and spread mixture on your face for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

6 strokes for drinking

KUALA LUMPUR – A RELIGIOUS court has sentenced a Muslim woman to six strokes of the cane for drinking alcohol, possibly for the first time in Malaysia.

The Syariah High Court in Pahang also handed the same sentence to a man on Monday, and is due to make a decision on another woman in May.

Mohamad Nasir Mohamad, 38, a father of four, and waitress Noorazah Baharuddin, 22, were found drinking beer separately in pubs in July last year in central Pahang state, said reports released yesterday.

Nasir admitted that he had drunk beer at a pub in Cherating on July 11, while Noorazah was caught drinking at the pub where she worked, in Jalan Gambut.

Both were also fined RM5,000 (S$2,100) each by the Pahang court on Monday.

The third accused was part-time model Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno, 32. According to the New Straits Times, Kartika, a Singapore permanent resident, could not attend court as she is studying in Singapore.

Judge Abdul Rahman Yunus said that he had given the maximum fine and caning as a deterrent to other Muslims, but had spared them a jail sentence.

‘The caning is to shame them and should be done at any of the prisons in the country,’ he was quoted as saying by NST.

The case comes after two controversial fatwas, or edicts – one over tomboyish behaviour by women and the other concerning the practice of yoga – sparked intense public debate over decisions made by the country’s top religious body.

Malaysia has a two-track legal system, with the civil courts operating alongside state-based syariah courts. Muslims are governed by syariah laws in family and personal matters, while ethnic Chinese, Indians and other races come under civil courts.

According to NST, this is the second time such a sentence has been handed down. In 2005, the same judge sentenced two Muslim brothers to six strokes of the cane after they were caught drinking.

However, the caning has yet to be carried out as the men are appealing against the decision.

Alcohol is widely available in Malaysia, and Muslims are rarely punished for consuming it.

‘It’s rare but it’s within the law and Muslims are subject to such law in this country,’ said lawyer Pawancheek Merican, a syariah law committee member of the Malaysian Bar Council.

MP Salahuddin Ayub, the youth chief of the opposition Islamic party PAS, said he ‘agreed’ with the court ruling.

‘The ruling only concerns Muslims and it does not affect the non-Muslims. It is to remind the Muslims not to drink,’ he said.

Wrong Number

Him: “Hello. Is this ***(Insert my company name here)?”

Me: “Yes, who’s this please?”

Him: “I’m from *****(A printer company). Outside your door got a big dog.”

Me: “HUH?”

Him: “Yeah. Got a big dog.”

Me: “Huh? DOG?”

Him: “Sorry, wrong number.”

????

*****

This wasn’t the only weird call.

A few days ago, someone called my colleague to ask for a reservation for two tables. She hung up on them saying that they called the wrong number.

I told her that she should have just said ‘Oh yes, at what time Sir? Sure, see you later.’

It’s not our fault they happened to dial our number WRONGLY. :P

*****

And then, another time someone else called our line.

Him: “Hello!!! Who called!!!!”

Me: “I’m sorry, who’s this on the line?”

Him: “Who called?!!! HUH?!! Who call me???”

At this point, I transferred the call to my colleague thinking he couldn’t understand English. I assumed that he was Mandarin spoken or something.  Only after transferring the call, did I find out he wasn’t a Chinese, but a Bangladeshi.

The best part, although she knew nuts about what he was going on about, our kind friend was entertaining him on the phone for atleast 3 minutes. I was laughing my ass off when I heard her talking.

“Huh? No! I think you got the wrong number. No one called.”

“Huh? No!” “Er.. Miss call? Maybe you can leave your name behind first?”

“Who’s that? I need your name to find out.”

AND finally,

“Erm.. Nope I don’t think we have any vacancies at the moment.”

Then we found out, he must have called us JUST to enquire if we have any vacancies at our place. But he put us through this TURMOIL for that! I would never recommend such a dimwit even if we had any vacancies!

Guilty

My boss walked to my table to pass me a file. He asked me to sort the name cards in order when I screamed out loud.

He asked ‘WHY?!’

At that moment, I couldn’t answer him. All I did was scream and point hysterically at the file.

And then, the villain was seen.

 Spide3r

THIS YELLOW SPIDER.

I freakin hate insects.

I told my boss.. “Kill him! Kill him.. Bring it away..”

And he just dumped the file on my table and walked away. He laughed and said he does not want to be at the scene when ladies are screaming, or else people are gonna mistake him. (But something told me he was as equally freaked out as I was. Just that, he wasn’t screaming.)

In some kinda phobic reaction, I started to itch and I started to scratch my hands and legs. I had no choice, I had to take a paper and lure the spider out. And please note that I was screeching at the top of my voice when this was being done.

I killed him. I feel guilty. I committed a murder. Can this be considered as an act of self-defence? Aren’t spiders poisonous?

I’m bored with my look. I need to go for a make-over man! I’m thinking of cutting my hair really short. Maybe make it a lil spiky. Use egg white and style it.

Then you can see me being the next model for Sony Ericsson’s astounding music quality!

I will look so adorable and cute.

Whine up

Filed under: Uncategorized — Grace @ 11:34 am

I know it’s been a while since I updated this space here.

Well, so much has happened, I don’t really know where to start. Haha.

Urms, have become a wiser and happier person. Thanks to the darlings in my life.

A special thanks goes out to Prita, for being there for her when I need her the most. She knows exactly what to say to make me feel better, when I’m at my lowest. And I know she’ll be there each time she mentions ‘I’ll be there.’ That’s a true example of what true friendship is. So much has happened between us. We fight like cats and dogs, but somehow or rather, fate brings us together again. Putting the past behind us and moving on is just a part of life, isn’t it? I’m so glad to have her with me.

Of course my dear Dharshini too. Although she might be a woman of little words, I can see how much she cares when I see the tears in her eyes when I’m hurt. She might suck at consolation, but deep down I know I’m always her baby sister. (OK dubukku don’t puke. :P )

Ragu.. A person who’s very different from me, character wise and everything else. But it’s just wonderful when we put that all aside just to be happy with each other’s presence. Although we don’t get too see each other very often, memories bring me a lot closer to him. We argue a lot, but life would never be the same without him. He’s irreplaceable and someone who’s very close to my heart. I suck at mushy poetic phrases to say nice things about the way our relationship is. But all I can say is I’m so damn sure God put me through a bad phase in life earlier to meet all the jack asses and morons for me to learn a lesson and to show me such a precious sweetheart to me later, in the name of Ragu. He’s a gift and will always be treasured by me.

Mum. We never used to get along well before. But recently, we’ve become closer.. More like friends. But I know I have a little more family bonding to work towards. Just wanna give her the happiness she never had. I need to bring her for a trip somewhere. Somewhere to make her smile.

SANJANA. My love, mere pyaar. I rush back home everyday just to see this sweetheart. She’s so cuddly and lovable. No matter how screwed my mood is, seeing her face makes me happier, in an instant. That’s why she’s always my best friend.

I apologise for such an emo post. Happens. Lol.

I don’t have much pictures to upload here, nevertheless, let me try to make this page a little interesting.

A few days ago, a mini renovation was going on in the office. So my colleagues and me had to be seated in another room to avoid the noise and dust. We were so bored, we decided to have our own version of “Win, Lose or Draw.” The Hint was Movie Titles. The game started off with my colleague Shirley.

This was her master piece. I managed to get it right. Any guesses?

Tsk.. The things we do when we’re bored.
