It’s 4.43 a.m. in the morning, but I can’t get to sleep.

Becoming an owl, like usual.

Yesteday, in the wee hours of the morning, Ragu decided to force ask me, Prita and Dharshi out for a movie. ‘Naan kadavul.’ And the show was at 11.15 a.m. That’s right, a.m.! And of course the nocturnal creatures like me and Prita were yet to sleep. It was already 4 plus a.m. But he had things to be done in the evening, so he started using his sister sentiments to Prita and Dharshi and yes, we were finally convinced to sacrifice our beauty sleep.

It was actually quite nice hanging around in the morning, when the sun is out and all. Lol. It was quite a sight, smuggling 4 Mac Griddle meals into the theatre. I had to stuff them into my sling bag, and Prita had to mask two of the drinks in her bag. Poor her, the Milo spilled into her bag and she was really not having fun cleaning out her bag in the beginning of the movie.

And then, we started our breakfast by passing around the Hash Browns which were stuck to it’s wrapper. I think ‘cos of Mr. Hash Brown’s perspiration. Lol. After peeling the layers off, I went to attack my burger! Eeeyew. The wrapper was stuck to the burger and wet, so I peeled the wrapper off and held the burger in my hands and poured the chilli sauce on it and yum, swallowed it all. But then, my hands got so sticky cos of the chilli sauce. I made a mess trying to use wipe them off and still, they were as sticky as ever. I had to sit through the whole movie with my palms hanging on mid air. (I was just afraid of staining my grey jeans.)

When I stepped out of the theatre, I was greeted by a Grey Jeans beautifully decorated with red polka dots. (Yeah, the chilli drops.) Grr.. Prita one lagi best.. Got milo patch all.. Keke.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed with the movie. Firstly, the movie was censored quite a bit so I did feel the pinch. Secondly, they were focusing on the other insignificant details instead of the main character of the movie, or about the lifestyle of a typical ’Agori.’

arya

Lets all start meditating this way. But, don't come after me if you break your neck.

The movie only reminded me and my sis of one thing. That is, how fortunate we are to be born in Singapore. Yes, things maybe fucked up at times.. But nothing beats the safety here. I really wish I can do something about the poverty in countries like India. That’s something I’m working towards to.

I came back home, not long ago.

Spent my first half of the day with my better half. We first met up at my place, and then we decided to head down to Yishun to catch a movie. Choosing between Slumdog Millionaire and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, we finally settled for the former.slumdog20millionaire

This movie depicts the life of Jamal Malik, a boy from the slums who went through a very troubled childhood. The story started off with him participating in the India’s version of ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’, and slowly moves on to little flashbacks of his life throughout the movie, as every question had some links to his past. Before he could move on to the final question to win 20 million, the show comes to end. With all the suspense and tension, the final question is postponed for the next show which is the day after.

At this point, Jamal’s brought back to the Police Station for an enquiry, as he’s suspected to have “cheated” to have gone this far in the game. In this movie, emotional scenes are plenty. Especially the misery he went through as an orphan with no one to call his own. This movie is proof that sometimes, even your family can’t be trusted. He also has a childhood sweetheart named Lathika, and their love story isn’t exactly a happy lovey-dovey journey. I leave you to figure out what happens in the end. I don’t want to kill the anxiety of any of my friends who haven’t caught the movie yet. =)

Needless to say, the music was extravagant thanks to the music genius, Mr. A.R. Rahman. It’s hardly surpising that the movie won 8 awards at the Oscars.

“JAI HO!”

Came back and met up with Prita & Dharshi. Spent some time catching up and watching some really funny videos on youtube. Click HERE to watch this very cute Pug saying ‘I love youuuu.’

A belated post.

On Friday, I met up with the two goons, Dharshi & Prita at Causeway Point. Dharshi had to pass Prita some Fiberwise.

We then headed to Mos Burger to have our dinner. It was nice, eating there after many years. We caught up on some stuff and then decided to rent some movies for later. We got two movies, ‘Black’ and ‘Metro’.

Off we went home, and watched TV for a while. ‘Ippadiku Rose’ was aired on Vijay TV and we were watching it for a bit. It’s amusing that this talk show speaks about stuff which most Indian cringe to talk about; mostly sensitive and ‘open’ minded topics. The host of this talk show is a really cool person. She’s a transgender, with alot of confidence, intellect and all. I’ve always admired her personality on air.

And then we started off with ‘Black’.

This was an emotional movie with a heart-wrenching storyline. My home was almost flooded with our tears. I never saw this side of Rani Mukerjee before. To sum up the storyline in a few words, it’s about this Blind girl (Rani Mukerjee) who had been deprived of many basic things in life because she was born deaf and blind. People mistook her for a moron and treated her like an animal. She was living a sad life until her teacher (Amitabh Bachan) stepped in and taught her many lessons and values in life. Loved the movie.

It almost almost 3 a.m. but we were not sleepy yet. So we proceeded with the next movie, ‘Metro.’

untitled1

This movie was alright, just like any other normal Bollywood movie. The story was more or less about these few people living the ‘City Lifestyle.’ It was a little scary lah. So much of deceit, backstabbing, betrayal and all. The worst is when the words ‘commitment in a relationship’ didn’t mean anything in the movie. People were having ex-marital affairs and sleeping around. A bit open-minded. The worse was when this girl was conned into a relationship. She knew something was wrong but was shocked when she found out her man was in bed with someone else……another man. Yes, he was gay. *pukes* That was for Friday.

Saturday was okay. Didn’t do anything much. Ragu had to go shopping so I accompanied him to Orchard Road. Grabbed some cookies from Marks & Spencers. The biscuits and all really rocks lah. Especially this one Marshmallow one introduced to me by Becky.

We were getting hungry after all that walking, so we proceeded to Restaurant Hoshigaoka. Ordered a huge quantity. Two combos. Ragu’s green noodle looking thing was a bad choice. Was bland. The rest was good!

I shall allow the pictures speak for itself.

You must be wondering on how come there’s no pic of me when it comes to my outings with Ragu. That’s cos.. He’s a horrible photographer!!! Seriously.. So I gave up and just took pics of my food. Didn’t wanna look like a cam-whore in a Japanese Restaurant taking pics of myself! Haaaaa!

Paapomz!
